Which makes more sense in 2023? Xbox Series X vs Desktop PC!

When we want to collect systems with Xbox Series X features, can we create a good competitor in terms of price and performance?

Gamers have been going back and forth between console and computer for many years. He or she may choose to take both. However, game-oriented users generally suggested that it would be more logical to buy a PlayStation or Xbox for half the cost of collecting the system.

However, due to the taxes coming to the console side in Turkey in 2023, it may not seem that attractive anymore. Because it has become almost equivalent to computers. So, can collecting a system with Xbox Series X features be profitable in terms of cost and performance?

Cost of assembling a system on Xbox Series X features

In 2020, Microsoft introduced 2 new consoles, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Shortly after the release, the price was reduced and the Series X fell to 7 thousand 499 TL and the Series S to 4 thousand 899 TL. However, it is currently sold at a price of 18 thousand TL and 8 thousand TL. The price of importer-guaranteed products is even lower than stated.

For this reason, many people suggest that it may make more sense to collect systems in Xbox Series X features. So, is it possible to assemble a computer at a really close price in terms of price, performance and accessibility?

First, let’s examine the features of the device. Xbox Series X comes with a processor that uses the 8-core AMD Zen 2 architecture and can run at 3.8 GHz. If we make a rough estimate, we can say that the processor we want to add to the system should be a Ryzen 7 3700X or higher model.

On the graphics card side, Microsoft uses AMD’s RDNA 2 GPUs with 12 TFLOPs of processing power. At the time of its release, it claimed that it was more powerful than NVIDIA’s RTX 2080 model. However, when we compare according to processing power and want to buy an up-to-date model, RTX 3060 and above cards can be considered.

On the storage side, a 1TB NVMe SSD with 2.4GB/s write and 4.8GB/s read speed is used. There is also 16GB of GDDR6 memory available. But on the system side, we can only use the newly introduced DDR5 RAMs. However, if we consider that it is not widespread enough yet, DDR4 can also be taken to avoid any compatibility and part problems.
